Spill offers message-based therapy to make people happier and more emotionally intelligent.
It’s available through workplaces and universities, so you’ll need a validated email address from one of these organisations in order to use the app.
How does Spill work? It’s a place to talk through worries, problems, or just whatever’s on your mind - all with a fully-qualified UK counsellor or therapist. You’ll exchange messages with them every few days, and they’ll listen, guide, understand and challenge you. Sometimes there will be questions that help you look at things in a different way, sometimes there will be practical exercises that help you change your behavioural or thought patterns. Each experience on Spill is unique, and you and your counsellor will decide together what to focus on and explore.
Spill is more than an app, though. It’s also an idea: that by understanding yourself, you can lead a better, more fulfilling, and more connected life. We created Spill because we believe that the benefits of high quality talk therapy should be available to everyone who’s interested in taking charge of their mind, everywhere.
Why Spill?
- Whenever, wherever: say goodbye to appointments, travelling and long waiting lists
- Write in the moment: message your counsellor as thoughts or events happen, not days or weeks later
- Reveal what you want: your identity is hidden, and there’s no pressure to commit or say more than you feel comfortable with
Don’t just take it from us:
“Open, easy to use, with no commitment” - The Independent
“Avoids long waiting lists and the expense of going to a private therapist” - Grazia
“They’re well versed in the tricky matters of the heart and mind” - Stylists
